"Fishing aboard the Caliente is an offshore fisherman’s dream. The boat is beautiful and the equipment is top notch. The Captain, Jaime Gonzalez, speaks good English, is easy going, and has a 6th sense when it comes to finding fish and having the right combination for getting them to bite, no matter what the species. A case in point is when we were tuna fishing on our “Practice day,” the day before the 2011 Cabo Tuna Jackpot.   Captain Jaime looked at the surface temperature imaging map that morning and saw a great temperature break over some good structure. When we arrived the tuna were there with no other boat in sight.  By 11:00 AM, we had filled the boat with 16 tuna. The largest was around 220 lbs. and the second largest was around 190 lbs. We had also broken one off that was estimated over 300 lbs. as we saw the fish well when it took a live bait right behind the boat. I have fished the Atlantic and Pacific every year for tuna and this day was one of the most epic ever. We filled the boat with some quality tuna, had a story about the big one that got away and were back it Cabo in time for a lunch at the Marina along with a cold cerveza!  There is no doubt that any avid fisherman would feel blessed to spend the day on the water with Captain Jaime aboard the 40’ Cabo, Caliente.
