CALIENTE using Leading Edge Fishing Techniques:
On the CALIENTE we use and develop new leading edge techniques to produce more and larger fish for our customers. Be it fishing Ringer Swivel circle hook rigged ballyhoo and then pitch baiting to striped marlin and sailfish raised off hook less Squidnation teasers and dredges, hook less teasers and fly fishing for marlin and dorado, trolling Nomads or planner / ballyhoo for wahoo, kite trolling with artificial flying fish or live baits and or spreader bars for giant yellowfin tuna, knife jig bottom fishing for yellowtail and grouper or chunking the breakers for pargo, we do it all! Captain Gonzales goal is to be able come back to the dock with bragging rights as the top boat of the fleet each day.
CALIENTE Tag and Release or Fresh Fish for the Table:
We have a strict policy on the CALIENTE that all billfish are tagged and released. Only circle hooks are used when targeting billfish with bait to insure billfish are released in their healthiest condition. We are active members of The Billfish Foundation (TBF) and promote the tag, catch, and release of all billfish to insure this valuable resource is available and abundant for generations to come.
Any game fish you catch and want to keep to eat are kept in prime "sushi" grade condition by our crew. Once on board, all fish are bled and then chilled. Next they are filleted, bagged, and placed in our deck freezer. There is no additional charge for filleting and bagging fish. Upon your return to the dock, your cold bags of fresh fillets are ready for you to take with you to a restaurant, smoke house, or home with you. Feel free to ask Captain Gonzales his recommended fish restaurants to enjoy eating your catch that evening.
